WVTF/RADIO IQ Public Radio is hiring a Coordinator of Community Engagement to serve as an important liaison to audience development and social media initiatives. The position reports to the Associate Program Director, but will help serve the needs of the News, Marketing, and Development departments. This individual must possess strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to produce content consistent with standards of public media.
The successful candidate will be creative, curious and energetic, and must be able to work in a collaborative environment, with a constant eye on external media partnerships, marketing ideas and sponsorship opportunities.
The successful candidate will be an important ambassador for WVTF and RADIO IQ as the point person for social media channels as well as a representative at station events and community forums as available. In addition to these responsibilities, you will capture and create audio promotional elements and audience testimonials in order to reinforce the “public” in public media.
Participation and planning of on-air fund drives, event planning as requested, volunteer and vendor coordination may also be requested
Bachelor’s degree in related field or comparative work experience in marketing/social media and/or content production.
Technological savvy in social media, including the skills needed to post content on our website, manage audience engagement and monitor Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, Instagram, Periscope and other developing platforms and channels.
Demonstrated ability to collect studio or field audio and produce exceptional content consistent with public radio’s core values.
Experience with radio production.
Must produce results on-deadline, set priorities and manage multiple projects.
Excellent computer fluency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Photoshop.
Must be flexible to work some evenings and weekends.
Ability to relate to people of all ages and demographics, and the desire to build and maintain working relationships with diverse groups in multicultural environments.
Strong writing and listening skills.
Familiarity with WVTF/RADIO IQ service area.
Experience in non-profit media; public relations and/or marketing.

The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
