Job Description

The Lam lab (Biological Sciences) at Virginia Tech is seeking to hire a senior research associate to work on Pseudomonas aeruginosa - host interactions and antimicrobial development. Successful applicant will be expected to investigate the host response to Pseudomonas infection and perform experiments to study how mammalian cells die from activities of the bacterial phospholipase effector, and to assess the efficacy of inhibitors of bacterial virulence factors in vitro and in mice models.

Required Qualifications

- Ph.D. in Biotechnology, Life or Biomedical Sciences.
- Extensive research experience and training.
- Strong record of research productivity as evidenced by publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Strong communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Ph.D. in biological science, medicine, pharmacy or molecular biology.
- Previous experience in working with protein purification and structure, bacterial pathogens, equipment management and mentoring students.
