Job Description

The Enrollment Services Specialist serves as the primary receptionist for the department of Modern and Classical Languages and Literatures. Responsibilities include managing the course schedule and timetable of classes; processing student forms; maintaining departmental academic records, directories, and listservs; assigning faculty advisors to majors and minors; providing support for departmental graduation events; and scheduling departmental meeting spaces. This person will also serve as assistant for a small M.A. program; assistant for faculty-led study abroad programs; cash handler; manager of key distribution and inventory; and manager of the departmental office supply inventory. Additionally, this position assists the office manager with various tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Previous experience in a high traffic environment, answering phones and greeting visitors, maintaining/processing student and course/department records, proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel or other database software. Demonstrated ability to work well with people, handle frequent interruptions and still complete work in an organized and efficient manner, meeting all deadlines. Possess excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, and be familiar with university polices regarding confidential records, such as FERPA.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous receptionist experience. Experience with entering force adds, working with course scheduling and management reports, and maintaining undergraduate student records. Experienced user in Banner and other university systems.
