Provide accounting support, financial analysis and administrative support to Planning and Business Services within the Division of Student Affairs. Financial responsibilities will include generating miscellaneous reports as requested, maintaining financial spreadsheets/databases, analyzing data, preparing journal entries, performing reconciliations. Administrative support will include making cash deposits, accounts receivable billing and processing of invoices.
Experience with compiling reports by gathering, analyzing, summarizing and interpreting data. |Ability to make independent decisions in a complex environment.|Must be able to work independently and take initiative to meet needs of department and those it serves. |Demonstrated initiative to independently plan, organize and prioritize workload.|Demonstrated ability to work effectively with detailed work and large volumes of information.|Experience using automated systems, personal computers and software such as Excel in an accounting oriented environment.|Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to provide customer service in a courteous manner and work effectively with diverse groups of people.|
Associate's Degree and/or equivalent training and experience in finance, accounting or related area. Experience working in a university setting. Experience processing reports, spreadsheets, purchase requisitions, accounts receivable billing. Experience with automated finance and purchasing systems (Banner and HokieMart/EVa). Standard office communications and procedures; and excellent customer service with effective communication. Knowledge of accounting usage of a Chart of Accounts.
Up to $45,000, commensurate with experience.
The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
