As a member of the Facilities and Operations Maintenance Department, the Senior Maintenance Specialist is responsible for the day to day maintenance operation for the department. This includes a variety of functions including plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and carpentry tasks. The successful candidate will have the ability to work independently as well as a member of a team with the focus on providing excellent customer service. Some overtime required and responds to after hours service calls when scheduled or in emergency situations. Must be willing to work weekend shifts occasionally or on a rotating shift.
Current Journey Tradesman’s license for plumbing in the state of Virginia.
Previous experience with general maintenance of commercial or institutional buildings mainly in the areas of plumbing but can be experienced In electrical, HVAC and carpentry; including but not limited to diagnosing, repairing and/or replacing.
Demonstrated knowledge of maintenance methods including materials, tools, procedures and safety practices.
Previous experience working with/understanding blueprints and specifications.
Some previous experience with computers or similar software.
Strong interpersonal communication skills.
Some overtime required and responds to after hours service calls when scheduled or in emergency situations.
Must be willing to work weekend shifts occasionally or on a rotating shift.
Master's certification in a trade related occupation or general contractor license preferred.
Previous experience with electronic maintenance program. Previous experience processing complete, accurate work order reports/documentation.
$37,000 - $42,000/year and commensurate with experience
The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check as well as a driving check with a safe driving record.
