Job Description

Postdoctoral Associate needed. The NMFC lab focuses on various work related to energy sectors, particularly nuclear reactor applications. Postdoctoral Associate will be allowed to work on a wide variety of research projects related to the nuclear fuel cycle, coolants, fuel materials, and material compatibility. Responsibilities include conducting research, mentor for graduate and undergraduate students, and collaborating with sponsors. Postdoctoral assignments range from one to two years, with a continuation of pay increment upon research performance. For more information, please visit our website (https://nmfc.me.vt.edu/).

Required Qualifications

• Ph.D. in science, engineering, or any equivalent field. PhD must be awarded no more than four years prior to the effective date of appointment with a minimum of one year eligibility remaining.
• A developing publication record.
• Strong communication skills.
• Some background knowledge of nuclear engineering and/or in material corrosion.
