Job Description

The Region 2 Internship Collaborative bridges the gap between secondary and higher education institutions, their students and businesses, providing work-based learning opportunities in the New River Valley, the Roanoke-Alleghany region, and the greater Lynchburg region. The program coordinator will support all aspects of the Region 2 Internship Collaborative according to the project implementation requirements, including data collection, educational workshops, outreach events, and communication. This position, reporting to the program manager, is a calendar year, full time, restricted staff position. The selected candidate will work closely with the program manager, other CECE faculty and staff, and the program’s steering committee.

Program coordinator responsibilities include:
• Outreach for marketing programmatic resources and effectively pitching program opportunities to partners and employers
• Hosting meetings and informational presentations
• Developing marketing materials
• Maintaining communication with stakeholders, employers, and partners
• Documentation and reporting of program activities according to VTOP requirements
• Attending regional events as the representative of the program

Excellent time management, communication, and organizational skills are required. The program coordinator's duties are to work under the direction of the program manager and with the CECE team to ensure that all Region 2 Internship Collaborative tasks and projects are completed on time, within budget and meet high quality standards. Some travel is required.

Required Qualifications

- Experience providing administrative and programmatic support duties in a multifaceted fast-paced office environment.
-Demonstrated ability to confidently present programmatic resources and initiatives to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated proficiency with current office computer software including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and desktop publishing;
-Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Program/project experience that demonstrates initiative, creativity, organization, and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

- Degree in business, communications, a related field or equivalent training and/or experience.
- Advanced Microsoft Office and Teams skills.
-Experience planning, organizing, and marketing events and educational activities (e.g. guest speakers, field trips, workshops, meetings, and receptions)
-Experience working in sales and/or marketing
