Virginia Tech is seeking a dynamic and motivated Talent Acquisition Sourcing Specialist to support our recruitment efforts and attract top talent to the university. In this role, you will partner with recruiters and HR leadership to develop innovative sourcing strategies, proactively identify candidates, and build talent pipelines for a variety of university positions including executive recruitment. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in growing and shaping Virginia Tech’s workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with recruiters and human resources leadership to understand talent needs and develop targeted sourcing strategies.
• Utilize various sourcing methods, including online databases, social media, networking, and job boards, to identify potential candidates.
• Maintain and update candidate pipelines to support future hiring needs.
• Assist in screening resumes and conducting preliminary candidate assessments.
• Track and report on sourcing metrics to evaluate effectiveness and improve strategies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field, or Associates Degree with relevant experience such as HR, Sales, Marketing
• Strong research skills and proficiency in software platforms.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with candidates and hiring teams.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Experience sourcing in a higher education, government, or corporate environment.
• Knowledge of Boolean search techniques and advanced sourcing strategies.
• Familiarity with applicant tracking systems such as PageUp
• Experience with LinkedIn Recruiter
Non-Exempt: Eligible for overtime
Salary range of $50,000 - $53,000
The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
