Job Description

The Affective Neurodynamics and Developmental (AND) Lab, directed by Dr. Tae-Ho Lee, and JK Lifespan Development Lab, directed by Dr. Jungmeen Kim-Spoon, at Virginia Tech are searching for a postdoctoral researcher for research projects examining lifespan neural development of emotion and cognitive systems and developmental trajectories of brain functioning as risk and protective mechanisms contributing to health risk behaviors. These projects utilize state-of-the-art neuroimaging techniques and include both longitudinal and cross-sectional analyses across a wide age range, from adolescents to older adults.

Key Responsibilities:
Performing advanced analyses and modeling of neuroimaging and behavioral data.
Preparing manuscripts for publication.
Overseeing neuroimaging data.
Collaborating on the development and execution of empirical research projects.
Assisting with grant proposals.
Mentoring graduate students and junior lab members

Required Qualifications

Ph.D. in Psychology, Neuroscience, or a related field by appointment start date.

Experience in brainstem analysis using neuromelanin imaging at both structural and functional levels

Experience with various functional connectivity approaches (e.g., PPI, Beta-Series, and C

Experience in fMRI task design, analysis, and connectivity modeling

Experience with long-term cognitive training programs

Experience with neural modulation techniques (e.g., tDCS, TMS)

Experience with longitudinal data analysis

Experience working with developmental populations (e.g., adolescents and older adults)

Scripting skills in Bash and MATLAB

Preferred Qualifications

Operating MRI scanners combined with physiological measures
