Job Summary:


Under the supervision of the Library Director, responsible for performing and coordinating the acquisitions, copy cataloging, serials, and financial and accounting services for the Gardner-Harvey Library. The position also requires assisting students, faculty, staff, and community members at the library’s InfoDesk with a broad scope of questions.


Duties/Physical Demands:

● Ordering all physical items as well as electronic resources that are requested for addition to the library's collection.
● Coordinate and perform a variety of technical services functions for the library, including: copy cataloging and processing items as needed; using the Sierra interface to update records, produce spine labels, change status/location, etc.; receiving vendor-supplied items and sending them, as needed, to King Library for original cataloging and processing; coordinating bindery and repair shipments; and coordinating shipments of withdrawn materials.
● Performing financial and accounting duties for the library, including: monitoring and ordering library supplies and equipment; processing invoices for payment using a University requisition system; charging expenses to a University P-Card and reconciling charges monthly; and making library staff travel arrangements.
● Answering questions about items in the collection and helping students, faculty, and staff research the information they need and guide their use of library technology.
● Supervising the library when other full-time staff members are not present and training and supervising student assistants for ongoing projects.
● Managing archival materials held by the library, including: organizing and cataloging items; digitizing archival materials; retrieving materials from the archives for patrons; and producing finding aids.
● Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:

Requires nine months of coursework or training beyond high school and two years of library experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience

• Basic knowledge of subject matter covered by library department
• Knowledge of computer and library research software, ability to motivate student employees
