Survey Management Solutions (SMS) are the survey division of the Winslow Group, servicing all residential sub-division and infrastructure projects across the Group. We employ over 80 Surveyors across Victoria and Queensland. Our SMS infrastructure team helps deliver multiple road and rail projects throughout Victoria including major state government infrastructure projects.

We utilise the latest survey gear ranging from Total Stations, levels, GPS, machine guidance, drones, and laser scanners, and we always have innovation at the forefront of our business model. We can utilise assets from our in-house Winslow Group Services ranging from traffic management services through to NDD Trucks with service locators to provide a wide range of surveying services.

Due to rapid growth, we are seeking a GPS Machine Technician to help complete the servicing and maintenance of our 150+ GPS & UTS machine control systems attached to our fleet of excavators, graders, and dozers. The role offers the chance for you to become a core member of our team whilst utilising your skills as a GPS Machine Technician to further develop your career in the industry.


The main responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Installation and calibration of our GPS machine control systems.
  • Troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of various GPS components.
  • Providing training and assistance to machine operators across our projects.
  • Reporting on system condition and communicating equipment needs to our Field Services Supervisor.
  • Working with various foreman, leading hands, and operators daily, managing workloads and minimising machine downtime.
  • Liaising with various external sales and service teams to assist in system repairs.
  • Working under the direction and guidance of our Field Services Supervisor.


  • Understanding and experience with handling various machine control systems.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge.  
  • Extensive experience gained across the construction industry.
  • Demonstrated GPS experience.
  • Demonstrated ability in proactively building relationships with key stakeholders and team members
  • Be outcomes focused and have the ability plan and keep organised.
