Bates Dining, Conferences, and Campus Events provides/oversees services for a self-operated student dining program, campus catering, retail dining operations, vending, summer programs, one day programs, major campus events, campus space scheduling and non-student short term housing.  The first cook supervisor's position oversees front line culinary operations for student dining and catering events. This is a hands-on supervisory position which requires an individual with the skills to understand the global needs of the operation, and the ability to organize their team's work with an eye to efficiency, timeliness, and production of high quality products.  This position calls for someone with outstanding customer service skills who can safely, efficiently, and consistently produce and present food in a high-volume setting, and who possesses the demonstrated ability to develop positive relationships with individuals and groups with varying backgrounds, perspectives, education, and skills. Ability to work as part of a dynamic management team that embraces communication and inclusiveness is essential to the candidates’ success. Exemplary organizational, time management, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills are a must as well as a demonstrated ability to teach others.

The Retail Operations Associate is responsible for one-on-one customer service, safe and efficient food preparation and quality assurance, responsible alcohol service, accurate cash handling and appropriate waste management. This position calls for someone who demonstrates an ability to relate well to individuals and groups with varying backgrounds, perspectives, education and skills. Exemplary organizational and time management skills, ability to multi-task and ability to cook and fill orders in a fast paced environment are all a must.
Associate Director of Dining Services Lewiston, ME
$500 Sign-On Bonus Available! Bates Dining, Conferences and Campus Events provides/oversees services for a self-operated student dining program, campus catering, two retail dining operations, summer programs, one day programs, major campus events, campus space scheduling and non-student short term housing. The Associate Director of Dining Services has specific oversight responsibilities for the service and sanitation divisions and, as a senior member of the management team, is expected to have a working knowledge of all areas of the operation. This position calls for someone with a strong commitment to customer service, experience in leading a team in a high volume environment, proficiency in training and development, an understanding of the collegiate food service industry and the ability to build an esprit de corps. The successful candidate will have the demonstrated ability to develop and foster positive relationships with individuals and groups with varying backgrounds, perspectives, education and skills, as well as the ability to work as part of a dynamic management team who embraces communication and inclusiveness. Exemplary organizational, time management, negotiation and conflict resolution skills are a must.
Clinical Coordinator- RN Bates College Clinic Lewiston, ME
This is a full time, benefits eligible position. This individual will work at both the Bates College campus, as well as CMMC. This role will provide oversight, coordination and clinical leadership to specific nursing departments by demonstrating research-based and best practices in clinical and leadership skills within patient care. The Clinical Coordinator is a member of the CMMC Nursing Leadership Team and serves as a leadership representative with commensurate authority in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
Campus Safety Officer- Part Time Lewiston, ME
The Bates Campus Safety Officer position is centered on the foundation of providing an excellent customer service experience; building relationships with faculty, staff, & students; engaging with the Bates community at events; and ensuring the safety and security of the Bates community. The Bates Campus Safety Officer is expected to be a common presence on campus; serve on the communications line, respond to calls for service (both emergency and routine); enforce college policy through a student support, accountability, and community lens; prepare and submit incident reports; and perform other duties as required by the Director of Campus Safety. Joining a collaborative and cross-departmental team engaged in a co-produced campus safety model, the Campus Safety Officer will be on shift with other Campus Safety Officers & Coordinators of Residence Life on-call.  In addition, the Office of Campus Life that sponsors events will have event staff and contracted security during large student events on campus. With an increasingly racially and culturally diverse student body, the Campus Safety Officer will view their work through a lens of support, equity and inclusion. Campus Safety Officers will engage and support students, guests and stakeholders from historically underrepresented groups including students of color, LGBTQ+ students, international students, students with disabilities, first-generation college students, and the student organizations dedicated to supporting these students on campus. Additionally, Campus Safety Officers will develop strong partnerships with various campus offices and key stakeholders to ensure continued positive, long lasting relationships within the Bates Community. This position is considered “Essential Personnel” in the event that: an emergency occurs on the Bates Campus or in the vicinity that would impact Bates, inclement weather forces the closing of campus or other emergency events deemed appropriate.
