The University of West Florida Department of Psychology invites applications for a 9-month, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning August 2025. The position includes the following duties: 1) teaching courses at the undergraduate level, 2) establishing an active program of research involving undergraduate students, and 3) service to the department, college, university, and profession. The teaching load is 3:3 (three 3-credit courses per fall and spring semesters). While the area of specialization is open, preference will be given to candidates with expertise in Cognitive Neuroscience, Sensation & Perception, Biological Psychology, and/or Cognitive Psychology.
The successful candidate for the position will have completed a doctoral degree from a regionally accredited university and strong evidence of potential for excellence in teaching and research at the undergraduate level. Successful candidates will also demonstrate potential for success in pursuing extramural funding and the ability to supervise, mentor and involve students in research. This person will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses in areas such as cognitive neuroscience (e.g., Brain, Behavior, & Experience), cognitive psychology (e.g. Memory & Cognition), sensation and perception, research methodology, and/or courses in their area of specialty. |
