About the role

The Mater Hospital Brisbane has an opportunity available for an experienced Business Support Officer to join the administration team and support the Gastroenterology department.

This position will be offered on a permanent part time basis, 13.68 hours per week. The shifts will be 3 x 4 hour shifts Wed-Friday (hours flexible) or 2 x 6 hour days Thursday and Friday.

Salary range: $39.79 - $44.25 per hour plus 12% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

• Providing Exceptional Customer Service to patient and clients
• Providing administrative support to clinical and medical staff, including the Director
• Maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality, complying with administration, and financial policy and procedures, maintaining accurate, current and accessible files, including maintenance of records of relevant meetings and discussions
• Continually demonstrate highly developed written communication skills including ability to draft routine correspondence on behalf of the senior management
• Provide administrative assistance to other senior staff and others as requested
• Exercise judgement where necessary to solve immediate problems in situations where precedents have not been set and procedures not defined
• Maintaining and meeting multiple KPI’s daily
• Support staff training

About you

• Experienced in providing medical administration support
• Highly developed time management and organisational skills
• Strong computer skills including competence in using Patient Administration systems (or the ability to quickly learn new systems)
• Strong focus on process
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to organise and prioritise work effectively within a busy, fast-paced, demanding environment
• Flexibility to work additional hours or shifts, Monday to Friday between 7am-5pm
