Public Health Scientist in PHOENIX
Performs inorganic and organic laboratory analyses on food and/or toxicological samples using complex analytical instrumentation of one or more of the following platforms: ICP-MS, LC-MS, GC/MS, & X-RF. Position supports work under the ADHS FDA Laboratory Flexible Funding Model (LFFM) grant as well as supporting testing in the ADHS Toxicology Program. All analytical works performed in adherence to the program's ISO 17025 accreditation and ADHS Laboratory QA/QC protocols. Bench work includes samples prep, sample analysis and the interpretation of test results. Additional work includes LIMS data entry, the ordering of supplies/consumables, instrument maintenance, instrument/method troubleshooting, waste disposal, and general adherence to Good Laboratory Practices. Works directly with chemicals and common laboratory hazards (gases, cryogenic sample prep) as well as analytical processes that may involve microwave digestion and/or solvent extraction. Performs method development and subsequent validations as needed. Position may be required to travel in support of the LFFM grant. Performs other duties as assigned.

The position is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of health data management services focused on measuring the quality of health care for children in foster care utilizing metrics from systems, including but not limited to NCQA, HEDIS, and Medicare. The Clinical Informatics Analyst participates in the monitoring of DCS CHP's contracted Managed Care Organization (MCO); specifically, validates performance measures and other data driven metrics produced by the MCO. This position also contributes to DCS CHP's Quality Management Department's activities for ongoing continuous performance improvements, compliance and alignment with Agency strategic initiatives.
