    • BEHAVIORAL HEALTH TECH 2 in PHOENIX

      This Behavioral Health Technician 2 will work under the direction and general supervision of a registered nurse while assisting patients according to individual treatment plans and unit policy. This role ensures a therapeutic team approach in the care and treatment of psychiatric patients, and serves as a liaison between nursing and clinical services in carrying out prescribed patient treatment plans. The individual in this role will provide assistance as requested while maintaining unit security along with conducting searches of patients and/or units for contraband. This role will account for objects on the unit which could present a danger to patient and others on unit. The BHT 2 will maintain secured areas and will also utilize NVCI techniques, physically restrains aggressive and/or violent patients. The individual in this role will contribute as an active member of interdisciplinary team and will confer with staff of the various disciplines of ongoing treatment of patients. This role discusses the concerns expressed by patients by listening, offers suggestions, and helping patients with perception, self-realization and orientation, in accordance with programs goals, objectives and treatment plan goals. This role offers rotating schedules to include any day of the week to meet the needs of the hospital and its patients. This position offers weekend differential, and shift differential, and has guaranteed shifts.

      The Behavioral Health Technician Lead (BHT 3) provides direct care staff work to psychiatric patients on a rotational schedule and may be required to work any shift or day of the week to meet the needs of the hospital and patients; observes, reports, and documents patient psychiatric and/or medical problems.

The position works on a rotating schedule and may be required to work varied schedules to meet the staffing needs of the hospital. The individual in this role will provide basic paraprofessional nursing care as directed which can include tasks such as providing patient assistance with performing ADL's (activity of daily living), monitoring nutrition intake, and taking vital signs. This role monitors and accurately documents patient activities and changes in behavior, mood, physical or psychological status following current policy. The BHT 1 alerts the charge nurse of any identified changes in physical or psychological status of the patients. The individual in this role will escort patients to clinical referrals and outings, and will also respond to psychiatric and medical emergencies, using approved interventions per hospital policy. The BHT 1 will maintain safety and security for patients and staff while assisting with orienting patients and new staff to the unit. This position offers weekend differential, and shift differential along with a comprehensive benefit package.

      The Psychiatrist will be responsible for providing in-patient specialty psychiatric care to patients admitted to the Arizona State Hospital including: performing diagnostic examinations, prescribing medications, developing behavioral plans, monitoring care and progress of the patient toward treatment and recovery goals.
