FEDERAL FISCAL MONITORING AUDITOR in PHOENIX
• The Federal Fiscal Monitoring Auditor, under the supervision of the Grants Fiscal Supervisor, will conduct fiscal monitoring to test the validity of federal grant expenditures by sub recipient Local Education Agencies (LEAs) and other entities. Using federal and state regulations, the auditor will determine whether selected expenditures were in accordance with federal and local regulations and statutes. The auditor will recommend an expanded review of the subrecipient's documentation to the Director of Federal Monitoring when they deem appropriate. Technical assistance will be provided as necessary by the auditor. • The auditor will also be responsible for the review, tracking and follow up of Single Audit files submitted to ADE by subrecipients conducted by CPAs. They will identify findings related to specific grants and ensure appropriate corrective action is taken to resolve the findings. The auditor is responsible for preparing and sending Management Decision Letters to complete the Single Audit processing. The auditor will be responsible for following up on missing Single Audits that are required to be filed by subrecipients that receive at least $750,000 in federal funding that include funds received from ADE. • All the information gathered is required to be tracked utilizing current department systems. Site visits will be conducted, occasionally, as deemed appropriate by the Grants Fiscal Director. • Rare in-state travel is required for this position. The Arizona Department of Education currently utilizes a hybrid work environment, with up to two days of remote work (contingent upon business needs). Candidates should apply with an ability and willingness to work in-office up to five days per week as business needs necessitate.

You will acquire hands on experience with the day-to-day operations of the Office of Victim Services including assistance with victims at the parole hearings, notification to victims, research, compiling statistics, and office procedural work. In addition, you will have the flexibility to attend court hearings, trainings, network with collaborative agencies, and tour prisons and other agency Victim Services departments. This opportunity may fulfill intern credit requirements for Criminal Justice, Behavioral Health/Social Work or a field related to victim services.
