Under the general direction of the BOIDS Bureau Chief and/or Deputy Bureau Chief, this position will serve as the Chief of the Office of Rapid Response Disease Investigation (ORRDI). Directs program planning and evaluation; ensures compliance with federal funding requirements; supervises program managers; develops of policies and procedures; manages contracts and grants; oversees budget development and administration; presents to local planning groups, local health departments and community based organizations; develops related rules, regulations and legislation; represents the Department on local planning groups. Employee will interact with local health officers, legislators and other community stakeholders. Is authorized to approve Office purchase requisitions and other expenditures from the OOHCS in accordance with current Bureau and Office procedures; initiate personnel action e.g., recommend selection of candidates for hiring and disciplinary action regarding existing staff; contact federal and state public health officials; and guide and coordinate integration efforts
