Researches current and historical laws pertaining to sentencing structures and application and/or court orders to ensure accurate and timely releases of inmates. Deconstructs court orders to determine appropriate sentencing structures and annotate correct release dates. In addition, reviews and responds to correspondence regarding information and time computations.

This position is responsible for monitoring and evaluating all aspects of medical services provided to our inmate population at the Arizona Department of Corrections Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) institutions and contracted private prisons. The Chief Medical Officer will be responsible for ensuring all clinical expertise and leadership for health care strategy development and implementation. They will serve as a thought and opinion leader to provide clinical leadership and to support internal and external strategic initiatives and work collaboratively with other Contract Healthcare Providers (CHP) and Chief Medical Officers. Within correctional healthcare, the Chief Medical Officer will service inmates, including mental health, substance abuse, and physical health. They will also ensure compliance with regulations and advocate for better care.
