This position will report to the Bureau Chief or Deputy Bureau Chief, and is responsible for overseeing the management of the Arizona ambulance services Certificate of Necessity Licensing (CON) and rates program: The position will be responsible for the oversight of ambulance provider certification licensing, recertification, response time compliance, establishment of general public rates, charges, contracts, and performance improvement initiatives. The role will serve as a resource for all administrative/lead staff, and oversee work of direct reports for accuracy and compliance with applicable statutes, laws, and rules. The position will be a subject matter expert on statutes and rules, and will be expected to provide technical assistance and guidance to EMS providers.

This position is responsible for a large segment of the AZ360 payroll system. Accounts for the complete FTE distribution for each individual by completing or coordinating a thorough review of all time cards for each payroll cycle. Accurately performs department payroll actions, including distribution changes, status changes, donated leave, leave without pay, and stipends. Updates and maintains departmental documents and computer records, accurately posts time card hours to work/leave records, and ensures time card corrections are properly documented.

Under the supervision of a Physical Plant Supervisor, the Refrigeration Mechanic installs, maintains, and repairs the heating, air-conditioning, and ventilation equipment for facilities under the care of the Arizona Army National Guard in the Central region, which include the areas of Phoenix, Buckeye, and Florence. Position will occasionally utilize and supervise inmate labor to assist in maintenance and service functions. May also be required to transport inmates to and from different job sites.
