Under the direction of the Assistant Director of the Healthcare Services Division, this position will ensure the equitable application of a Patient-Centered Care Model when monitoring, and evaluating all aspects of medical services, dental and mental health care provided to our inmate population at the Arizona Department of Corrections Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) institutions and contracted private prisons. As the subject matter expert, this role will direct clinical treatment protocols and guidance to our contracted health services providers and other internal and external entities. The ideal candidate will operate with integrity, support the mission and vision of the Agency, and be familiar with current evidence based industry related practices. This role requires medical acumen and the ability to manage relationships with various stakeholders. The Medical Director will use these skills as the foundation to give guidance, assess policies and practices, and identify and resolve inmate related health care concerns that may impact ADCRR.
