      Louisiana Delta Community College invites applications for the Dean of Instruction | Nursing and Allied Health. The Dean of Instruction, NAH provides strategic direction and operational oversight for all educational programs within the School of Nursing and Allied Health, including programs in Nursing (registered nursing, practical nursing, nurse aide), Medical Laboratory Technician, Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician, Paramedicine and EMT, Phlebotomy and EKG Technology, and other health science areas. The Dean of Instruction, NAH provides innovative vision and leadership for allied health programs and faculty members while cultivating a caring learning environment centered on student success. Responsibilities include the planning, organization, administration, and evaluation of programs, projects, and activities within the school of discipline. The Dean is expected to supervise and evaluate faculty and staff, foster continuous development of faculty and staff, and represent faculty and staff at the administrative level within the academic affairs unit. The Dean may be expected to teach courses within qualified disciplines when needed to support student success, program matriculation, and completion. This is a 12-month exempt position which carries academic rank.

This position provides guidance and training to junior custodial staff to uphold high standards of facility upkeep. Responsible for maintaining, cleaning, and disinfecting all areas of a facility. Perform basic cleaning, sanitation, and minor maintenance of an assigned building and associated grounds including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, polishing, trash removal, etc.

As such, the instructor is expected to plan, organize, and teach in a manner that encourages collaborative teamwork and ethical values aligning with the school’s mission, vision and institutional values. The position also promotes and directs successful student learning in keeping with the learning centered values and strategic goals of SOWELA Technical Community College.

      The ASN Nursing Faculty is responsible for teaching professional nursing courses at the postsecondary level (but at less than the baccalaureate) to students who have graduated high school or earned a GED. Responsible for preparing and delivering lectures, leading and moderating classroom discussions, facilitating online activities and communication, and administering and grading examinations and assignments. Demonstrates and teaches patient care techniques in the classroom, simulation laboratory, and clinical sites to nursing students. Position is an expert in nursing practices with knowledge of professional scope and standards of practice. Able to rely on evidence-based practice guidelines to plan and accomplish teaching goals. May lead and direct the work of others. A degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

    • Instructor - Respiratory Care/Director Clinical Education in Lake Charles, LA

      The Respiratory Director oversees and teaches in the Respiratory Care Program at the postsecondary level (but less than the baccalaureate) to students who have graduated high school or earned a GED. The director will ensure compliance with accreditation standards, the delivery of a high-quality curriculum, and the effective preparation of students for careers in respiratory care. The individual will participate in curriculum development/revision and provide didactic, laboratory, and clinical instruction. The person is a subject matter expert in Respiratory Therapy. Able to rely on evidence-based practice guidelines to plan and accomplish teaching goals. May lead and direct the work of others. A degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
