This is a part-time position on the SOWELA Technical Community College Main Campus in Lake Charles beginning in January 2026. This position reports to the Dean of the School of Business and Applied Technology. The Adjunct Instructor – Paralegal Studies conducts college-level courses while developing and designing curriculum plans that foster learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensure student engagement. This Adjunct Instructor is responsible for preparing and delivering lectures online, on-ground, and/or in hybrid situations, creating a learning environment, and assessing student learning for college-level students. The Adjunct Instructor – Paralegal Studies maintains accurate grade and attendance records, and individual student progress data, and ensures this is a part of the student’s permanent record; adheres to all laws pertaining to disclosure of student records; posts and observes on-campus and/or virtual office hours to facilitate interaction with students, other faculty, staff administrators, and the public. The Adjunct Instructor – Paralegal Studies must be available to students via email, phone, and/or in-person conference. The Adjunct Instructor – Paralegal Studies is knowledgeable and familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. This position may engage in professional development and stays current in technological and/or pedagogical advances that promote student learning.

The Instructor of Aviation Maintenance Technology is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in both classroom and laboratory settings across a variety of courses. This role also includes contributing to the development and revision of degree and certificate programs, as well as ensuring curriculum remains current and aligned with industry and FAA standards. The instructor supports student success by effectively teaching a diverse student population and by fulfilling all instructional duties in accordance with the college’s mission, philosophy, policies, and procedures.
