Assistant Director of Disability Resources in Atlanta
The Assistant Director (AD) of the Office of Disability Resources at SCAD Atlanta is the lead expert in ADA accommodations on the SCAD Atlanta campus and ensures efficient and comprehensive access and support for students with disabilities. The AD supports the overall development and execution of accessibility services on the SCAD Atlanta campus. This position involves collaborating with various university departments, assessing student documentation, determining appropriate academic accommodations, maintaining a caseload of students with disabilities, providing training to faculty and staff, and actively participating in campus-wide initiatives to improve access for individuals with access needs. The assistant director also serves as a resource for adaptive computer technology and engages in outreach, executive functioning support, and psychoeducational program development. The assistant director is responsible for faculty and staff ADA and 504 trainings and is considered the lead resource for ADA accessibility consultation at SCAD Atlanta. This position works closely with the SCAD Savannah Office of Disability Resources team to ensure equity and consistency in accessibility support across all SCAD campuses.

To accomplish this, you will develop, promote, and conduct workshops, training, coaching, and professional development for students, alumni, faculty, and staff. You will ensure that their professional presentation skills are developed to skillfully articulate content to various audiences. Additionally, you will assist with externally offered SCADamp programs and track coaching data as needed. Responsibilities include accurate record maintenance for accreditation and institutional assessment purposes in support of the Quality Enhancement Plan. You will stay informed about research related to presentation and communication fields, refining your visual communication skills to enhance the team's overall efforts.
