About the role
selectability Mackay is seeking a dedicated program officer to work collaboratively with the mental health hub coordinator. The program officer will be at the forefront of program delivery, with a particular focus on group interventions. This role offers a unique opportunity to enhance mental health services, making a meaningful impact on the lives of consumers.
As a program officer at the Mental Health Hub Mackay, you will play a crucial role in supporting various aspects of mental health program delivery.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Program Support: assisting in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of mental health programs and activities in line with funding requirements
Consumer Assistance: providing support and guidance to consumers, helping them access necessary services and resources
Community Engagement: building and maintaining relationships with community organisations, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders
Administrative Tasks: completing all necessary administrative duties to ensure smooth program operations
About you
To be considered for this rewarding role you will have:
- a passion for mental health across regional Queensland
- strong written and verbal communication skills
- experience in program planning and running of group activities
- experience in data collection, auditing and administrative actions (highly desirable)
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- ability to work as part of the cohesive team and autonomously with minimal supervision
- auditing and reporting on program processes
- update and maintain databases and other applications as required
- provide inreach and outreach to link consumers with services and supports they require
- support consumers with NDIS access and request to referral pathways
- research best practice to implement evidence-based tools and documented processes to undertake assessments
- most importantly… a positive attitude
Role Requirements
- cert IV in Mental Health or relevant field and/ or experience working with people living with a mental illness (highly desirable)
- a Positive Notice Working with Children (blue card) (or the ability to obtain prior to commencing)
- current nationally recognised first aid & cpr certificate
- a current yellow card exemption or NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or the ability or obtain prior to commencement)
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module "Quality, Safety & You" completion certificate
- a current minimum P1 "C" class Queensland drivers licence
- roadworthy vehicle with comprehensive insurance
- some travel to selectability sites may be required from time to time
About the offer
This is a Permanent Part-Time position on a fixed term agreement from 01/07/2025 to 30/06/2026 offering a minimum of 60 hours per fortnight based in Mackay (travel to other selectability sites will be required) reporting to the Mental Health Hub Coordinator.
