Job Summary

This is a full-time, ten-month, term-contract faculty appointment in the HVAC/Air Conditioning Technology program within the Skilled Trades Division. The position requires flexibility of scheduling which will include both on-campus and online classes and is intended to fulfill our HVAC instruction needs.


This faculty is responsible for supervision and instruction of students, advising and recruitment of students, program reviews/evaluations, and maintaining and building community partnerships. This position includes online teaching with Blackboard or a similar LMS, use of hands on instructional labs.

Job Duties:

1. Teach in-person and hybrid instruction related to Heating Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Technology .
2. Maintain at least five in-person office hours per week.
3. Advise current and prospective students for program and career-related counseling.
4. Participate in recruitment and retention activities.
5. Participate in department and college committee as assigned.
6. Provide input regarding curriculum development and enhancement.
7. Complete all required College and KCTCS mandatory trainings in addition to attending other professional development activities relevant to personal interest.
8. Develop and maintain a working relationship with local industry.
9. Enforce high expectations related to professional behavior (including punctuality, respect for leadership, teamwork, and written/verbal communication skills).
10. Other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associates degree or higher in a related field AND
• Three (3) years of experience in the HVAC or related field AND
• KY Journeyman HVAC License and Universal EPA Certification
OR
• Proven Competence through an HVAC diploma or ESCO exams AND
• Five (5) years of experience in the HVAC field AND
• KY Journeyman HVAC License and Universal EPA Certification
 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in HVAC instruction
