Job Duties
The Division of Prevention and Health Promotion (DPHP) is responsible for
administering state, regional, and local community-based programs specific
to chronic disease prevention, tobacco prevention, oral health promotion,
substance use disorder prevention and injury and violence prevention. The
DPHP seeks a qualified candidate to serve as the Overdose Data to Action
Grant coordinator. The selected candidate will be responsible for grant
management, including grant writing, implementation, and monitoring. This
position provides oversight of contracts all geared towards preventing and
treating substance use disorder for Virginians. This position independently
performs a variety of administrative tasks including grant reporting, budget
development and management, resource procurement, and stakeholder
partnership management. Work tasks regularly require interpretation of
policies, procedures, and processes. This position provides critical leadership
for population-based substance use disorder prevention efforts.
This is a restricted position, which is solely funded by the Overdose Data to Action for States Grant, ending August 31, 2028. The availability of funding is scheduled for review annually, or before the grant expires and periodically thereafter. Continued employment is contingent on the continued availability of funds.
Minimum Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have the following qualification:
Knowledge of program development and planning, research and evaluation,
analytical principles, quality control, and ability to provide technical
assistance
Experience leading complex research or other related projects
Experience with presenting data in visual presentations to committee
members, leadership and other stakeholders
Experience with managing data.
Additional Considerations
Advance knowledge in Excel.
Experience with working with Outlook.
Experience working with Zoom/Team.
