Job Duties
Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care Center; named for two Medal of Honor recipients – Colonel Van Barfoot and Colonel Carl Sitter – provides the gold standard in quality care for Virginia’s Veterans. This single-level facility features 200 single-occupancy rooms across four nursing units.
Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care Center (SBVCC) is recruiting for a Certified Nurse Aide to work a schedule shift of 7:00am-3:30pm.
CNAs are expected to perform the following duties:
Assist with meals and escorts residents to the dining hall.
Make rounds regularly, answer call lights promptly and respond courteously.
Complete all required paperwork/computerized documentation for charting assessments.
Provide each resident the necessary care in accordance with his/her plan of care and ADL record.
Monitor and observe residents’ physical, mental, and emotional status, and report changes to Charge Nurse.
Minimum Qualifications
Current Virginia Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) license.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of personal care needs and activities of daily living (ADL’s).
Physical ability to turn, bend and lift non-ambulatory adult patients without restrictions.
Additional Considerations
Experience in a long-term care or adult geriatric setting.
