Job Duties
Virginia Energy is in search of a strategic Human Resource (HR) Business Partner who can
provide HR guidance and hands-on operational support. This position will be responsible for assisting managers and staff with diverse HR matters such as recruitment, benefits, employee relations, performance management, and compliance reporting. In addition, entering and updating records in Cardinal, managing system access for key personnel, preparing and overseeing standardized reports, driving HR process improvements, and serving as the team leader for the Employee Recognition Team.
This is a hybrid position with 4 days onsite and 1-day telework.

Minimum Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience utilizing Cardinal HCM to perform accurate data entry, research employee records, generate reports, and ensure overall data integrity and consistency
- Serve as the security officer for HR systems
- Experience effectively communicating (orally and written) with various stakeholders, including senior leaders, managers, and employees
- Working knowledge of DHRM Human Resources policies and procedures and Federal and State laws regarding employment practices
- Experience with recruitment from hiring to onboarding and working knowledge of PageUp
- Experience with employee recognition and total rewards initiatives
- Highly organized, detailed oriented, analytical and prioritization skills are a must
- Working knowledge of performance management and conflict resolution practices
- Experience handling employee relation issues and providing guidance
- Experience preparing and presenting reports and presentations
- Oversee records management processes including organization, retention, retrieval, and secure disposal of employee files
- Knowledge of benefits to support employees with simple benefits questions
- Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office software
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations
- Ability to work independently to meet deadlines
- Excellent customer service and relationship building skills
- High degree of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
- Ability to work on a team that delivers a high-availability level of service
- Stays up to date on HR trends and best practices
- Demonstrated experience with state software systems such as Cardinal/PeopleSoft, PageUp, VRS Navigator, etc.
