Norfolk State University invites applications for a tenure-track position for an Open Rank Professor of Social Work in The Ethelyn R. Strong School of Social Work. Candidates are required to possess an MSW from a CSWE accredited Social Work Program and to have earned a terminal degree (PhD, DSW) in social work or a related field. The candidate selected is expected to demonstrate and engage in scholarship; provide evidence or potential for exemplary teaching (3+3 teaching load); serve as a professional advisor; provide dissertation support to doctoral students, and engage in service at the university, community, regional, and national levels. We are open to candidates that can teach various courses across academic programs. This is a full-time, on-site, tenure-track position (nine-month) beginning January or August 2026.
