Human Services Program Coordinator in Richmond (City), Virginia
This position is one of two the Office of Health Equity is seeking to manage its Health Workforce Incentive Unit. The unit administers a variety of programs on behalf of the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) to attract primary care professionals to Virginia. Some of these initiatives provide loan repayment awards that must be applied to awardees’ educational loans tied to health professional licensure. VDH is also authorized by the General Assembly to offer nursing scholarships, a nurse preceptor program, and a grant program for academic institutions to offer nursing apprenticeships with clinical partners. Finally, the Health Workforce Incentive Unit administers the Conrad 30 waiver program that allows J-1 foreign medical graduates (FMGs) to apply for a waiver of the 2-year foreign residence requirement upon completion of the J-1 exchange visitor program as overseen by the U.S. State Department and the U.S Department of Homeland Security, as well as State Loan Repayment Program (SLRP) outlined by the U.S. Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA).
