Western State Hospital is seeking an RN II – Nursing Preceptor Coordinator to help lead and strengthen our Nursing Preceptorship Program. This is a unique opportunity to combine your psychiatric nursing experience with leadership, clinical education, and professional development. In this role, you will help newly hired nurses build the knowledge, skills, confidence, and clinical judgment needed to provide safe, effective care within a psychiatric hospital environment. You will provide hands-on instruction, coaching, mentorship, and support while reinforcing recovery-focused, trauma-informed, person-centered psychiatric nursing care. You will also collaborate with Nursing Leadership, Human Resources, Staff Development and Training, and unit teams to enhance the preceptorship experience and support the development and retention of a strong psychiatric nursing workforce.
