Faculty are required to maintain office hours for performing academic advising for students, assist students with course-related problems outside of the classroom (tutoring), and other course related duties. Instructors must maintain accurate student attendance records, grades, and other required records in compliance with federal FERPA regulations. Students must be informed and updated concerning course content, requirements, evaluation procedures, and attendance requirements. Faculty are expected to stay abreast of developments in the field of chemistry by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional development. In addition, instructors may participate in program and curriculum review, student learning outcome initiatives and curriculum improvements. Instructors may perform other duties as assigned by the Dean or Department Chair.
