    • Relational Advisor (Grant Funded) in Memphis

      This is a full-time, grant-funded position within the Department of Advising and Academic Support. The position is funded through the Title III IDEAS Grant. The Relational Advisor (RA) will provide academic guidance and advisement to students on policies, procedures, and program requirements to fulfill a certificate or degree program and will proactively participate in the planning and delivery of academic advising services for students and subpopulations that promote comprehensive educational opportunities. Responsible for sustaining an environment of academic and professional excellence for students, providing proactive outreach, referrals, and intervention with student populations via several communication methods. The RA maintains student engagement and academic progression by tracking the advancement of students from inception to graduation. The PAAGTL maintains student engagement and follow through by tracking the advancement of students from inception to graduation. As the team lead for the grant, the team lead will train, lead, support, coach, and collect data for the grant program. This position requires a minimum of 37.5 hours per week. Additional hours may be required. Some travel may be required between campus locations.

    • Assistant Professor & Program Director of Sonography in Jackson

      The Program Director holds a 12-Month faculty position that reports to the Dean of Healthcare Professions. The Director of the Sonography Program is responsible for the Certificate of Diagnostic Medical Sonography and the Certificate of Cardiovascular Sonography Programs at Jackson State Community College. All tasks adhere to CAAHEP and JRCDMS standards, as well as regional healthcare expectations. In addition to classroom/laboratory instruction, the Director will be responsible for the organization, administration, periodic review, planning, development and general effectiveness of the program; will provide input into the program budget; and supervise other faculty within the program.

    • Instructor of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Education 9/10 Month (Term) in Gallatin

      This position is responsible for delivering quality instruction in multiple instructional delivery formats and participating in evaluation of student learning and assessment of course and program outcomes. Faculty will participate in service activities to support the College’s mission. The EMS Education instructor works under the supervision of the Director of EMS Education. The instructor participates in the assessment, planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of program curriculum. The instructor conducts classroom, skills lab, and online instruction for EMT, AEMT, and Paramedic courses. The instructor coordinates student advising and associated clinical site management for the Emergency Medical Services Education Program.

Pellissippi State’s noncredit lifelong learning program offers personal enrichment classes for the community with a wide range of topics, including: fitness, languages, musical instruments, arts and crafts, wellness, history, and more. Class participants are community members ages 18+. Some of the many benefits of teaching a lifelong learning class include working with engaged and enthusiastic adult learners and flexible class scheduling. Our noncredit class schedule is released twice a year: spring/summer and fall. Classes can be as short as 90 minutes or up to 20 hours in length. Instructors are expected to have a high level of expertise in the subject of their proposed class, and some experience in teaching or training others.
