POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT Custodian – McMinnville Campus The Tennessee College of Applied Technology - McMinnville is accepting applications for the position of Custodian for the McMinnville Campus. POSITION INFORMATION: Position Type: Full-Time Hours: 37.5 hours per week Salary: $29,900 annually SUMMARY The Custodian works under the supervision of the Fiscal Services Coordinator performing daily custodial duties. He/she shall be a high school graduate or the equivalent as determined by the High School Equivalency (HSE) Test with three (3) years of related experience. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS • High school graduate or the equivalent as determined by the High School Equivalency (HSE) Test • Three (3) years of custodial work experience • Familiar with cleaning chemicals and MSDS labeling • Must possess or are able to obtain a valid Tennessee driver’s license PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Five (5) years of custodial work experience in an education setting preferred • OSHA 10 Certification preferred but not necessary KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES • Knowledge of methods used to perform high quality routine cleaning of public areas • Knowledge of cleaning supplies and equipment used in cleaning of various types of areas including; flooring materials, restrooms, water fountains, walls, glass, etc. • Ability to lift 40 pounds • Knowledge of MSDS labeling and policy RESPONSIBILITIES • Under the general supervision of the Fiscal Services Coordinator: o Perform daily cleaning of common areas per the institution’s cleaning and maintenance policy. o Perform safety and security checks of facilities. • Perform opening and closing of facilities as needed. • Demonstrate a commitment to student success.
