Grassland Ecology Data Management Technician in Grand Forks
Self-motivated and dependable individuals are needed to assist with regional (Grand Forks County) and nationwide plant and soil inventory projects this upcoming summer. The summer positions will be up to full-time, and we anticipate a May 13th start date (> 20 hours/week; $18.00/hr; start and end dates flexible). No experience necessary, but an interest related to any aspect of biological, ecological, environmental, physical, chemical, or similar sciences helpful. Duties could include travel (vehicles, housing while traveling, and per diem provided) with a field crew to field sites and natural areas across the Great Plains and Pacific Northwest to conduct plant surveys and collect soil samples and in-lab processing of soil and plant samples. Additional duties for this position include assisting with creating and maintaining the project database in the R programming format for four years of data. These efforts are part of a long-term effort to document the soil health benefits of the USDA Conservation Reserve Program. Applications will be accepted until the positions are filled. While housing in Grand Forks, ND will not be provided, options exist for on-campus and local housing. This is a no VISA sponsorship position.
