Job Duties and Responsibilities: Plans, organizes, and directs all activities of the women’s softball team, including practices, training sessions, and competitions.

Assesses players’ skills, assigns team positions, and develops strategies to maximize athletic performance.

Evaluates team and opposition capabilities to determine game strategies.

Coaches or directs assistant coaches in teaching softball techniques and game strategies.

Oversees the recruitment and retention of student-athletes in compliance with NCAA rules and regulations through scouting, attending tournaments, and home visits.

Directs all aspects and components of the softball program, including daily operations, administrative tasks, and financial management.

Coordinates strategic planning and program development to ensure the long-term success of the softball team.

Represents the softball program to institutional departments, media, government agencies, funding organizations, students, parents, and the general public.

Prepares and manages the program budget, monitors expenditures, and ensures financial accountability.

Ensures compliance with safety procedures and enforces all applicable NCAA and institutional regulations.

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Environment: Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.

Physical Effort: Moderate physical activity.

Lifting Requirements: Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
