One Year Instructional Faculty – Department of Psychology in Harrisonburg
The Department of Psychology in the College of Health and Behavioral Studies (CHBS) at James Madison University (JMU) invites applicants for a 10-month full-time instructional faculty position at the rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor with a Fixed Term Appointment (FTA) to begin August 25, 2025. The initial 1-year contract is renewable for two more years, contingent upon performance. The mission of the Department of Psychology is to educate our students in and contribute to the science of psychology. Psychology is among the most popular majors on campus, serving approximately 1,300 students. JMU emphasizes instructional innovation in the classroom, data-driven approaches to instructional improvement, and engaged learning experiences for undergraduates. The successful candidate will join a cohort of five other first- and second-year faculty members in a vibrant and growing department. Family Education Specialist (Part-Time) in Harrisonburg
The Shenandoah Valley Migrant Education Program (SVMEP) at the Institute for Innovation in Health and Human Services (IIHHS) at James Madison University is a year round program serving children from migrant families who come into the Shenandoah Valley to do qualifying work, which can include processing poultry, picking apples, and milking dairy cows. The SVMEP offers year-round advocacy and supplemental instructional services for preschool and school-aged eligible students as well as young adults under the age of twenty-two, targeting the students who are most at risk due to their high mobility and/or limited proficiency in English (identified as priority for service). The primary goal of the Migrant Education Program (MEP) is to ensure that all migrant students reach challenging academic standards and graduate with a high school diploma or complete a GED that prepares them for responsible citizenship, further learning and productive employment. IIHHS is an interdisciplinary community-engaged hub that brings together students, staff, faculty, and the community to advance a culture of health and equity through education, clinical practice, research, innovative programs and advocacy. SVMEP is a grant-funded program within IIHHS.
