General Information:
JMU’s School of Professional & Continuing Education collaborates with individuals, business, and communities through transformative educational programs and experiences. SPCE offers a range of programs, including youth camps, adult degree completion, professional and workforce development, and lifelong learning, as well as partners with academic units across JMU to support a number of online or off-campus degree and certificate programs.
SPCE seeks a Fiscal Support Coordinator to support internal staff, external partners, and to directly assist our Financial & Operations Manager. This position will perform administrative tasks related to all SPCE programming including fiscal processes, departmental reporting, hiring actions, and budget updates.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Entering and tracking of hiring actions (ePARs, paper PARs, etc.) for all our credit bearing programs
Collecting and organizing paperwork backup for all transactions included in our Monthly Reconciliation reporting
Running queries and reports from PeopleSoft systems (HR Management, Finance, Student Administration)
Updating existing program budgets with query and report data
Drafting and submitting various funds transfer documents
Processing departmental purchases, payments, and funds transfers
Identifying and tracking program level expenses
Cross-training and providing backup for other operations staff as needed
Documenting departmental processes and policies
Working with Finance & Operations Manager to continually improve internal processes
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
Experience with budgeting, financial reporting, and administrative forms
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Outlook and Excel
Proficiency with mathematics
Attention to detail and ability to organize multiple sources of information
Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and visual)
