University Writing Center Graduate Assistantships - Outreach Specialist & Collaborative Writing Specialist in Harrisonburg
The University Writing Center (UWC), one of the Learning Centers programs, is an academic support resource that assists JMU students, faculty, and staff on their writing through appointment-based consultations, course workshops, and online resources. The bulk of our work is the writing consultations that are conducted either online or in person in the Learning Centers space on the first floor of the Student Success Center that employ a collaborative peer education model. Graduate Assistants work up to 20 hours per week with the following being the expected breakdown: 10 weekly hours of writing consultation, 5 weekly hours of center administration/work on a self-directed project and 5 weekly hours allotted for meetings and email correspondence.

The Occupational Therapy Clinical Education Services (OTCES) is a pediatric clinic providing one-on-one occupational therapy evaluations, interventions, and consultative services, as well as group programs and camps offered to meet the needs of the community. With an academic connection to Department of Health Professions and a clinical connection to the Institute for Innovation in Health and Human Services, OTCES serves as a teaching-learning environment for students from many different programs while meeting distinct community needs. We are seeking an occupational therapist assistant to provide client care and supervision to occupational therapy students. This position will work collaboratively with the Clinic Director, Assistant Clinic Director, OTCES staff, and Occupational Therapy program faculty.
