The Shenandoah Valley Small Business Development Center (SBDC) seeks a Client and Center Operations Specialist to serve as first point of contact and front office receptionist with responsibility to provide office management, client services, fiscal, and administrative assistance to the Director, Advisors, Stakeholders and Clients of the center. We are seeking qualified applicants who are interested in assisting small businesses and entrepreneurs. Grant funded by the Small Business Administration (SBA), the SBDC has been a Sponsored Program hosted by JMU since 1987. Located near campus, there is easy access to parking and a pleasant work environment with large offices and natural light. As part of the Virginia SBDC Network, the office is supported with professional development opportunities, training and connection with centers throughout the Commonwealth.

The position provides support to the Office of Advancement Gifts & Records within University Advancement by assisting with special projects related to record management and gift processing to ensure accurate maintenance of constituent data. Timeliness, accuracy and a strong attention to detail is required. This position directly supports the Director and Assistant Director of Advancement Gifts & Records. The position’s core responsibility is to assist with the office’s day-to-day operations. This is a part-time position, working no more than 20 hours per week over the course of the academic year. Successful candidates should process strong project management skills, proven interpersonal, problem-solving and organizational skills, strong database skills, process a keep eye for detail, and work well independently.

Graduate Assistant, Student Organization Management in Harrisonburg
Student Leadership and Involvement (SLI) assist students in gaining connections on campus through leadership programs, support to student organizations, and a wide variety of programming. SLI is a part of the Office of Student Life, whose mission is to foster belonging through the personal growth and development of an engaged citizenry by providing welcoming experiences and spaces. The role of the Student Organization Management Graduate Assistant will include supporting the Student Organization Annual Registration Process, the Start an Organization process, Student Org Night, and Explore Madison Week. This role will also assist in managing The Club House space, as well as co-supervising undergraduate student staff. A graduate assistant in the office of Student Leadership and Involvement is expected to work 20 hours a week. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be necessary due to the nature of our programming. All graduate assistants in Student Life are expected to attend departmental staff meetings and sponsored professional development opportunities as schedule permits.

The Office of Planning, Analytics & Institutional Research (PAIR) at James Madison University is accepting applications for an on-site Data Analytics Specialist (DAS). The DAS plans, develops, implements, and maintains procedures related to the production, processing, storage, and delivery of university data, consisting of data warehousing, compliance and analytic reports, studies, and ad hoc data requests for internal and external constituents. The DAS will also assist in the design, development, and maintenance of dashboards for commonly requested and widely used data in the JMU Factbook– a web-based series of visualizations.
