Department Summary The Center for Human Identification (CHI) is an accredited forensic laboratory on the campus of The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth. With funding from the State of Texas and various Federal Government agencies, CHI supports forensic DNA testing, genetic genealogy, anthropological examinations, CODIS operations, investigative support, training, and various research and development initiatives. CHI also manages the Texas Missing Persons DNA Database. |
Position Overview The LIMS/Portal Manager will project manage the implementation of a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and CHI’s participation in the new Texas Crime Lab Records Connect Portal (Tx CLR Connect), then manage both systems in addition to Qualtrax and other laboratory software applications. The LIMS/Portal Manager administers the technical aspects of the LIMS and other applications, ensuring that both LIMS are capable of accurate and efficient capturing and reporting of laboratory data and processes in compliance with various regulatory agencies (i.e. ANAB, FBI QAS, TFSC). Work will involve coordinating user requirements, resolving issues, ensuring quality standards, working with LIMS/Portal support to modify system components, training new users and incorporating new technology. Serves as CHI’s liaison to HSC/System IT department. |
