Advocacy Assistant Coach in Downtown Dallas
Advocacy Coaches are a critical part of the College of Law’s learning community. Coaches are involved in curricular and co-curricular activities and programs relating to student learning and professional formation throughout law school. The appointments will be as either Head Advocacy Coach or Assistant Advocacy Coach to coach a Moot Court or Mock Trial competition team in the 2024-2025 academic year. All competitions will likely be in person. At least one head coach is expected to travel with the teams. Assistant Coaches shall only travel with the team with express approval. Travel expenses will be reimbursed according to UNT System policies. Head coaches - $1,500 for each competition, no more than one competition per term; Assistant coaches - $750 for each competition, no more than one competition per term.

Community Lawyering Center Adjunct Faculty in Downtown Dallas

The UNT Dallas College of Law welcomes applications from experienced lawyers, judges, and law school instructors who are interested in serving as an adjunct faculty member during the Fall of 2025. NATURE OF POSITION AND APPOINTMENT The appointments will be as Adjunct Faculty to teach one course each in the Fall 2025 semester for the Day Division or the Evening Division . EXPECTATIONS Adjunct faculty members are a critical part of the College of Law’s learning community, and they will be involved in curricular and co-curricular activities and programs relating to student learning and professional formation throughout law school. Because the educational program will strive for excellence in developing practice-related competencies, adjunct faculty members will be expected to follow the instructional and curricular practices of the College of Law, including use of the Canvas Learning Management System, learning outcomes, multiple assessments, and research and writing modules within a course, as appropriate, with support from other faculty as well as research librarians. The College of Law will support adjunct faculty in these areas by providing training, course design expertise, and learning management system support.

An adjunct instructor undertakes the divisional and professional responsibilities of a part-time faculty member, including office hours. The successful applicant will be expected to provide instruction in a full range of undergraduate History courses within UNT Dallas’s History major, including core-curriculum U.S. History (2610-U.S. History to 1865, and 2620-U.S. History since 1865), Texas History (4700), and World Civilization courses (1050-World Civilization I, 1060-World Civilization II), and there may be an opportunity to teach upper-level courses.

Adjunct faculty plans classes and implements and evaluates teaching/learning objectives and student learning outcomes. Adjunct faculty undertakes the divisional and professional responsibilities of a part-time faculty member, including office hours on campus. The successful applicant will be expected to provide quality instruction in graduate Public Leadership and Administration courses matching the instructor’s background, education, and skills base. The successful applicant will be expected to provide instruction in a full range of graduate level face-to-face, hybrid and online courses focused on pubic administration, including, but not limited to, Data Analytics and Research Methods, Public Service & Society, Performance Measurement & Monitoring, Intergovernmental Relations, Healthcare Administration, Public Health Leadership, Leading and Managing Pubic Organizations, and Public Private Partnerships. Adjunct faculty members may be required to use certain texts and meet certain parameters set by the Public Leadership program and will be required to be on campus for face-to-face and hybrid courses, as well as office hours. Adjunct instructors will also be required to include in their courses certain student assessment measures determined by the department, and to compile data on those assessment criteria.

Additional responsibilities include maintaining office hours and fulfilling the professional obligations of a part-time faculty member. The successful candidate will provide instruction for lower-division mathematics courses, which may include: • Developmental Mathematics • College Algebra • Business Algebra • Business Calculus • Elementary Statistics • Contemporary Mathematics • Mathematics for Teachers Most courses are offered in the afternoons and evenings on the UNT Dallas campus. Adjunct faculty may be required to use specific textbooks and adhere to instructional parameters set by the Department of Mathematics. Instructors will also be expected to incorporate departmental assessment measures into their courses and to compile and report relevant data.
