The Graphic Design & Production Coordinator will provide coordination of University Marketing and Public Relations daily support functions, including opening jobs, maintaining project management system, pulling weekly traffic reports and overdue tasks lists, assisting with department traffic meetings. As jobs are completed, properly archiving in system. Based on media schedules and insertion orders, ensuring that all jobs are opened to meet ad deadlines. Assisting with proofing, design, layouts, file preparation and production for a wide range of print and/or web related materials as well as other creative support.
Essential duties:
- Provide Production Director with administrative support relating to the flow of job requests and completion.
- Assist the Production Director with client services, including project follow-up, distribution of materials, event set-up and departmental administrative support.
- Organize and track all marketing projects for archival purposes.
- Process client job requests and create job jackets when needed. Confer with the production director on job assignments and schedule.
- Add jobs to project management system as they are opened and update the jobs as the status changes.
- Help produce and design materials that will interpret the image of the University for its constituents through advertising, brochures, flyers, web images and other assigned projects.
- Support the Creative Team with ad resizes, photo selection, file packaging and preparation.
- Assumes other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, graphic design or related field.
- 1-2 years work experience in a related field.
- Proficiency in Mac Operating system with knowledge of Word, Excel and the Adobe Creative Suite (including InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator) Ability to learn project management system.
- Portfolio showing design work a plus.
