K92 Mining Limited operates the Kainantu Gold Mine in the Eastern Highlands Province. Since we launched in 2016, we've grown gold production every year, boosting Papua New Guinea's economy. We take pride in supporting your communities, with nearly 94% of our team members being fellow PNG locals.

About the role

Ensure safe handling of the explosives to efficiently charge the blast holes in the development drilled face and stope holes.

Key / Major Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

• Maintaining work relationship with all working crews during shift hours.
• ongoing communication with supervisors.
• Housekeeping as per standard.
• stope charging, stope mining and rise mining.
• Safe operation of the charging equipment
• handling explosives and assist in preparation for discharging explosives.
• Ensuring compliance to explosives act and the site explosive management plan.

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you have some or all the following.

• An active explosive handling permit.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in similar position.
• Very good understanding of the explosive management act/standards.
• Must have a good understanding in the different explosives.
• Must have a good understanding of sequencing and blast patterns and the delays.
• Ability to perform duties with minimum supervision.
• Ability to read, write and understand English
• Able to communicate effectively at all levels
