Join our team as a senior compliance accountant in the cost and reporting area within the OSU Tax and Compliance department, where you’ll play a key role in the following functions: Fringe Benefit Rate Management: Oversee the annual fringe benefit rate proposal, reconcile benefit liabilities, and support audits. Cost & Rate Structure Analysis: Conduct annual reviews of store pricing, break-even analysis, and compliance with Cost Accounting Standards. Tax Compliance & Reporting: Prepare working papers for OSU’s annual tax return, coordinate with external tax consultants, and manage Unrelated Business Income (UBI) reporting. Indirect Cost (IDC) Rate Proposals: Prepare and submit IDC rate proposals for OSU and Langston University, ensuring adherence to Uniform Guidance and Cost Accounting Standards. Financial Reporting & Special Projects: Prepare key reports such as the HERD Survey and NIH Expenditures, review working fund transfers, and contribute to strategic financial initiatives. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills and experience in cost accounting, payroll processing, or financial compliance. This position has the flexibility to develop and modify processes and procedures to increase efficiency and improve effectiveness within their role. Budget Analyst (Land-Grant Programs)-2024 in Langston
PRINCIPAL PURPOSE OF JOB: This position is critical to the Sherman Lewis School of Agriculture and Applied Sciences (SL/SAAS) and will closely associate with the Langston University Fiscal Office and LU/OSU Shared Services Grants and Contracts Office. He/she will work with the SL/SAAS Dean to support various aspects of budgeting financial activities in LU Land-Grant programs and ensure compliance with federal/state policies, procedures, regulations, and statutes. Assist the SL/SAAS Dean in coordinating, monitoring, and supervising SL/SAAS budgets, financial responsibilities, and applicable programs/activities within the SL/SAAS. Support, manage, and advise the development of strategic financial plans for efficient and effective allocation of funds and resources. Assist with inventory of all capital equipment and other purchased items in SL/SAAS. Provide regular updates of financial activities in specific program budgets. Work closely with the LU fiscal office to undertake budget monitoring activities and ensure accurate accountability for annual and sporadic financial reviews.

The position is an 11-month appointment at the rank of advanced Associate Professor or Full Professor with tenure to begin July 1, 2026. We seek a dynamic leader and distinguished researcher who will foster excellence in the research, educational and service missions of the department. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in leadership, a strong research background with demonstrated success in securing extramural funding, and commitment to instruction and program development. The Head is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the department’s mission and for articulating a strategic vision for the department that aligns with the college and university’s mission as the preeminent land-grant R1 institution. The Head manages the day-to-day operations of the department, including resource allocation and fiscal management; oversight of faculty development; support of the research enterprise of the department; and review of curriculum and program development with a focus on student success.
