      Mental Health Counselor (part-time) in Lamar

      The Mental Health Counselor will provide and coordinate mental health services for students enrolled at Lamar Community College. The Mental Health Counselor will work collaboratively with other offices on campus to develop systems and programs that are particularly, but not exclusively, supportive of students who are first generation, low income, and/or students of color. This person will provide a wide range of counseling services, including individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, outreach, consultation, and training that emphasize students’ resilience and other skills and capacities that have brought them to Lamar Community College. The Mental Health Counselor will model excellent boundary establishment and maintenance, strict adherence to confidentiality, and a commitment to operation an ethically driven mental health practice. They will be clinically supervised by the Mental Health Development Supervisor and as such will participate in the larger Rural College Consortium Mental Health Development Project Team, regularly interfacing with other Mental Health Counselors at sister institutions. As an employee of, and the Colorado Community College System, this position is required to uphold and enforce the policies of LCC and CCCS, and all local, state and federal laws. This position will comply with all student privacy laws (FERPA); and is a mandatory reporter of any suspected illegal activity.
