  • Base Salary Range:
    • $128,327 - $133,758 p.a - RN/M4
    • $121,537 - $126,970 p.a - RN/M3
  • In addition to base salary, this position attracts Superannuation, Leave Loading, Zone Allowance and once off Incidental Payment (conditions apply), Professional Development Allowance, and Salary Sacrificing Benefits (salary packaging).

Please note that as this position is multi-classed as either a RN/M4 or RN/M3 the classification will be determined by qualifications and experience.

Port Augusta Hospital and Regional Health Service

The Port Augusta Hospital and Regional Health Service is a large regional hospital that provides a wide range of services including emergency, general and surgical, maternity, outpatient, and outreach services. The hospital has 58 beds including flex and monitored beds. The Port Augusta Hospital also has chemotherapy services and has a Renal Dialysis Unit and a Paediatric Department, both of which are the largest outside of Adelaide. Our staff work in close partnership with community health services and Aboriginal health providers, to ensure that optimum care is delivered to all areas of the community. About the Role:

The Nurse Practitioner (RN/M4), you will provide expert clinical nursing or midwifery care to individual patients, clients, and specific populations while exercising significant autonomy and decision-making authority. You may also take on clinical leadership within your area of practice across various clinical settings.

You will deliver high-level nursing or midwifery services, including specialized palliative care, while leading and mentoring your colleagues to foster a collaborative environment. Additionally, you will oversee projects and programs that enhance patient outcomes through your clinical expertise. If you are working towards becoming a Nurse Practitioner, this role offers the opportunity to develop your skills through hands-on clinical exposure, postgraduate qualifications, and mentorship from authorized Nurse Practitioners or medical staff.

About You:

RN/M4

  • Must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate. 
  • Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years post registration experience.
  • Demonstrated advanced level of nursing practice in the care and management of Palliative Care
  • Experience in developing policies, procedures and models of care in the relevant area of clinical practice.
  • Experience in the supervision of student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses.

RN/M3

  • Must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate with the notation of Nurse Practitioner.
  • Registered Nurse and or Midwife with at least 3 years post registration experience
  • Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing and or midwifery practice in accordance with the relevant standards
  • Experience in the supervision of students, enrolled nurses, and less experienced registered nurses and or midwives
  • Experience in the use of computer software packages such as Microsoft Office Suite
