About the Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Paediatric Medicine team as a Nurse Manager– Safety, Quality & Risk, where you will be responsible for:

  • Undertaking strategic project management and providing specialist advice on risk, safety, and quality, including managing related projects and training.
  • Performing independent duties to establish regional policies, procedures, standards, and projects directly related to the Division.
  • Collaborating with Divisional staff and the Safety and Quality Unit (SQU) to develop a continuous improvement framework supporting quality projects that enhance service delivery and patient outcomes for WCHN.
  • Initiating and monitoring systems to ensure adherence to clinical reporting requirements and the delivery of various projects, plans, and evaluations supporting the Region’s objectives.
  • Developing and maintaining positive working relationships within the organization and with external entities.
  • Accepting responsibility for nursing management practices, addressing inconsistencies between practice and policy, and contributing to a safe, positive work culture focused on patient outcomes.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have the ability to:

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
  • Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years post registration experience.
  • Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing/midwifery practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice.
  • Effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving conflict resolution and negotiation
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet timelines
  • Demonstrated ability in leading and promoting consumer engagement initiatives
