As Customer Due Diligence Lead, you’ll lead a specialist financial crime operations team responsible for enhanced customer due diligence. You’ll play a key role in strengthening how Tabcorp identifies, assesses, and responds to customer risk, while uplifting investigation quality, team capability, and operational performance.

Your role

Reporting to the Head of Financial Crime Operations, you’ll lead a team focused on enhanced customer due diligence investigations, complex customer risk assessments, and relationship recommendations. You’ll set clear standards, support evidence-based decision-making, and drive improvements that strengthen how we manage financial crime risk.

Specifically, you will:

  • Lead enhanced customer due diligence investigations into escalated customer activity.
  • Oversee analysts conducting risk assessments, risk ratings, and relationship recommendations.
  • Provide technical guidance on complex investigations and sensitive customer scenarios.
  • Drive improvements to due diligence processes, systems, controls, and operating effectiveness.
  • Coach, develop, and uplift team capability through quality oversight and feedback.
  • Monitor team performance, investigation outcomes, quality, productivity, and reporting.
  • Identify and escalate emerging financial crime risks, trends, and systemic issues.

What you'll need to succeed

You’re a confident people leader with strong judgement, curiosity, and a practical approach to solving complex problems. You’re comfortable working through ambiguity, making clear risk-based decisions, and balancing regulatory, customer, and commercial considerations.

You’ll bring:

  • Significant experience in financial crime, ideally with a focus on customer due diligence or enhanced due diligence.
  • Proven experience leading, coaching, and uplifting team performance.
  • Strong analytical skills and sound risk-based decision-making.
  • Experience managing complex investigations and sensitive customer matters.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Experience improving processes, controls, quality, and operational performance.
